Coordination of Production and Instalment
The 15th Gwangju Biennale opened in Gwangju, South Korea, on September 7, 2024. Under the artistic direction of Nicolas Bourriaud, the event ran until December 1 with the theme "Pansori: A Soundscape of the 21st Century." The Biennale featured 22 pavilions representing various nations and organizations; marking the event's 30th anniversary, Fukuoka City participated for the first time with a "Japan Pavilion" as part of its "Fukuoka Art Next" initiative.
The exhibition was curated by cultural researcher Hiroki Yamamoto. Akiko Utsumi and Mitsue Yamauchi each presented works based on the theme "There Are Things We (Still) Need to Remember." ArtTank handled the coordination of production and installation.
