After being put on hold for some time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Roppongi Art Night is finally taking place in September 2022. ArtTank has been part of the planning team over the past few years, and the fruits of those efforts are gradually coming to fruition; a work by Koichiro Higashi was unveiled on September 16.

When the artist moved to Toride and discovered it was known as a "bicycle town," they were struck by the realization—only to find that hardly anyone actually rode bicycles there. It seems the town had once sought to flourish as a cycling hub, partly due to the presence of a velodrome. Today, however, Toride is littered with abandoned and discarded bicycles. Through the artist's creative work, these bicycles are reborn. Each one holds a story: where it was purchased, how it was used, and the places it traveled. By gathering fragments of the original owners' memories, the artist seeks to breathe new life into these bicycles—objects whose own time and history had come to a standstill.
