After being put on hold for some time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Roppongi Art Night is finally taking place in September 2022. ArtTank has been part of the planning team for the past few years, and the fruits of those efforts are finally beginning to materialize. A work by Iku Harada was unveiled on September 3rd.

exhibition period: 10:00 to 22:00, 3rd September to 16 September 2022
Venue:Dai-Ichi Renu Building
For the exhibition in Roppongi, Harada renders the area's architectural spaces as a virtual environment within his computer; he then translates the view from within that virtual space back into the physical realm for display. Additionally, this iteration incorporates visual trickery introduced in 2018, allowing viewers to experience uncanny distortions by shifting their perspective. It is essential that the work be viewed not only with the naked eye but also through a mobile phone camera, resulting in images that appear to capture a fictional space. Through such exhibitions, the artist pursues a practice that oscillates between the real landscape and the fictional one.
