exhibition report and work information of Kou Kana (Kana Yoshida) held in Inamuragasaki, Kamakura thru Nov. 21 to 29, 2020.
This is a exhibition preview which we curated from Nov. 21日 to 29, 2020.
Kana Yoshida (renamed Kou since 2016) was born in 1975 and worked until her death in the end of February 2020.
We received large number of visitors to this exhibition, while due to the short period, we will introduce some of the features of the exhibition.
1F works on landscapes from 2006―c.a. 2011
On the first floor, drawings taken from natural landscapes were exhibited (from Los Angeles years in 2006 to around 2011). On the large table in the center, many drawings were filed for views to freely see.
Large works on the walls were mainly from a work entitled "Beautiful Limit" from 2010 to 2011. It is originally consisted of about 130 sheet panels. Due to its size, it was only at Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery in 2011 who was able to exhibit the whole set.
Takahiro Iwasaki, who was at the same art class in the university, made a new piece for this exhibition, using Kana Kou's crayons inspired by her cactus series which the artist worked around in 2018.

In 2007, the artist made a script to trail mountains for 7 days just to enjoy a good beer reaching the goal. Based on the plot, the artist made drawings and paintings from the main scene.
